Google November 2024 Core Update Still Causing Volatility a Week Later

05 Dec, 2024 Google Still Updating

We are already more than a week past the predicted completion date for the Google November 2024 core change, and it appears to be generating significant ranking instability in Google Search results. The update was supposed to be completed two weeks after it began rolling out, but we’re already three weeks and three days later.

And over the last few days, we’ve seen a lot of conversation regarding ranking movement in Google Search results, and the tools started to surge again yesterday morning. Perhaps this is the final stage of the update, which will be completed within the next few hours? We’re not sure, but we do know that things are still moving around a lot, either due to this core update or something else.

Google has yet to announce that the core update is complete, and it is still going out, much past the “up to 2 weeks to complete” schedule Google had given us. Of course, we’ve seen similar changes take much longer than Google predicted. However, it is not yet complete, and we are nearly 24 days into the rollout, which is a week and three days later than projected.

As a reminder, the Google November 2024 core update began rolling out on Monday, November 11, at 8:30 p.m, and we witnessed some activity around November 13 and 14th, albeit it was not widespread. Then around November 16th, we witnessed a lot more fluctuation and volatility. Then things settled down during the second week of the update, lasting till November 25th and 26th, as well as the 27th and 28th.

And we’re seeing greater movement and volatility again.
