Starting October 31st, we are witnessing a notable increase in conversation amongst those in the SEO community around a probable Google Search ranking update and/or extreme volatility.
The buzz started in the late morning of October 31st and has persisted until November 1st. Additionally some of tracking picked this up; SimilarWeb noted extreme volatility on October 31st, it’s one the most heated days in over a month.
The volatility that SimilarWeb was showing does now seemed to have cooled, as has the conversation. The majority of the other tools only showed a minor spike over the weekend.
We believe there was some kind of change in the late morning of the 31st October and subsequently reverted.
Reminder: Google did inform us that a “search update is coming soon”.
